KARIBU SANA!
WARM WELCOME!

Thank you for checking out the TWIGA Foundation site despite being busy, busy, busy as we're sure you are - everyone is these days. TWIGA means giraffe in Ki-swahili, the animal that sticks its neck out - that's exactly what we are doing for people who need our help to enable them to move forward in life by themselves. We want to inspire and support people, especially the young, to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

At the moment TWIGA support the ‘Sarakasi ya Vijana’ program in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania. In this program 19 children are supported. We help these children (6 – 13 years old) to get back in primary school and we give them extra tuition. After that we help them in secondary school and/or professional school. This way we give them a second chance in life to become responsible, skilled, self-confident and compassionate young people. We give them a better chance in their own country.
TWIGA Foundation supports this program financially. The children are being taught and coached by people in their direct environment. More information on this program can be found at Children Project. Several smaller subprograms in Mto wa Mbu are supported as well.

We always need support for the programs mentioned above. We are looking for volunteers to work in Tanzania or in the Netherlands, people who want to drop by to bring things to Mto wa Mbu and of course we are looking for financial aid. More information can be found at Support TWIGA.
